*** LAKE YALE RETREAT (Facebook: LY '08 - *REBIRTH*)
Lake Yale REGISTRATION to attend BEGINS NOW! (contact Josh, or tell him this Friday)

The THEME for this year: "What is living the life God intended? And what's ethnicity and culture got to do with it?" (It has to do with our Asian American culture and Christianity)

Lake Yale is an annual Chinese and Asian American Churches Summer Retreat held
this year from Friday, May 23 to Sunday, May 25.

We will DEFINITELY have 2 speakers this year. One for the youth (middle school - high school) and one for the young adults (college and up). This is VERY exciting because the speakers have a background in raising churches specifically for Asian Americans. (Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, etc.) Tell your friends! They do NOT have to be Chinese since the audience for our theme will cover the broader Asian-American arena and will be applicable to people from other ethnicities as well. This year will include Christians from Korean and Vietnamese churches around Florida.

Orlando Chinese Evangelical Christian Church (OCECC) is looking for anyone who
would be interested in helping out in this year's several
categories of services:

Follow-Up Ministry
Hospitality
Music Worship
Media
Youth Counselors
College/Young Adult Counselors
Prayer Team
Speakers Workshops and Assistants

If you are interested in helping out, please look over the attached form [Lake
Yale 2008-Volunteers] which will explain in further detail. Contact Josh at jnlin85@ufl.edu, or 407-923-5788 if you want to help or if you want to attend. Check out facebook group: LY '08 - *REBIRTH*. If you want to help out we need to know ASAP.

*** Tabling
We're going to be tabling at the religious organization fair on March 26th (Wednesday) at the Plaza of the Americas.
It'll be from 11-2, so we need at least 3 people from:

10:45 to 11:45 (to set up and get started)
11:45 to 12:45
12:45 to 1:45 (or till it ends)

so far we have enough people at each time slot, but feel free stop by if you are free during this time

*** Ramp Build
We will also be having a ramp build this coming saturday, i realize that it is also GCCC's picnic. But if your able to come out please let me know, here is the address: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/2137+NE+7th+Pl+Gainesville+FL+32641-5946/ the ramp will be about 14 ft so its pretty small, we want to be at the ramp site by 9:15 the ramp should not take long, we hope to finish just after 12 and hopefully before 1. Come together for fellowship and show your love for the people in need, lets come together and show the world that the love of Christ is here and his saving power is now.

-Daniel

*** LAKE YALE RETREAT (Facebook: LY '08 - *REBIRTH*)

The THEME for this year: "What is living the life God intended? And what's ethnicity and culture got to do with it?" (It has to do with our Asian American culture and Christianity)

Lake Yale is an annual Chinese and Asian American Churches Summer Retreat held
this year from Friday, May 25 to Sunday, May 27.

***An Adventurous Camping/Beach Trip (3/22-23)

Tentatively there's camping trip at Anastatia State Park (in St. Augustine) the weekend following spring break which is the weekend of March 22-23rd (Sat & Sun). In order to plan for this trip I will need a head count of those interested to know overall gear needed, costs, space amount and or the feasibility of this whole thing. Guys and Girls are welcomed and will have separate but close enough camp sites. so far there is no specific agenda with this trip, but that doesn't stop the intimacy of enjoying each other's company and growing deeper with each other. also, this is open to anyone.

Please contact me benji (benji@ufl.edu or 407-782-4325)and let me know if you are interested or want further information or ponderings or musings.

Things to consider in short:
-guy/girl camping weekend near beach
-roughly $10-15 dollars in cost
-food/lodging (tents) provided through cost
-an excellent time

*** Volunteer events
Just wanted to update you on some of the events happening this weekend, we have about 5 projects that we can partake of. I personally would love to be able to do all three, so that there is more opportunity for the future. Here is some info on the projects.

1. moving (4-5 people) he has a van already.
michael lottier (no church preference)
400 nw 1 ave #214 ("400 building")
gainesville, fl 32601
352 395 7593
352 431 6115

2. cleaning (2-3 people MAX please) (10 AM?) (has
supplies)
tina meerovitz (ocd) (goes to dove church)
4824 nw 80 rd
gainesville, fl 32653
(blues creek)
352 372 8265

3. railings (on existing mini ramp) (plans attached,
get supplies from office)
inghram lofton (elderly)
2933 ne 19 st
gainesville, fl 32609
352 372 2145

We also had two ramps one just last week, which we need to finish up and also if those, who recall, Mrs. Ricci's ramp. I think that if we have enough people we can finish everything and at least for me personally I won't have it in the back of my mind that I haven't finished what I started.

Again, some of you expressed the desire to serve with others, and if not we should desire to serve with others, so that we interact as a body in the work of Christ. I would urge everyone to go to CCF's St Francis house to help prepare dinner. There is so much to do at these events do not convince yourself that you cannot be used there. If God has put the burden on your heart and you are drawn to something let His conviction and Spirit guide you that you may glorify Him. Also keep posted for an email later this week for our next "Worship on Campus".

Everyone have a blessed week, and be reminded that the Lord is God and He deserves all and everything we are, because we were bought with a great price and presented as holy before Him.

BTW, these events are for everyone, so do not be shy. Email me if you have any questions or comments: wooguay@gmail.com (954)-817-6028

*** YOUTH GROUP SEEKS VOLUNTEER : from Luke
Peace be with you. We (Annie and I) are seeking more people to teach and lead the youth group at the GCCC. Here is some information about the youth group: The students in the youth group range from 6th to 12th grade and are about split even among boys and girls. Aside from Friday Bible study, we also have special events such as watching films together or visiting the park (as we did during our mini group Sabbath this fall).

If you sense a calling to serve the young people in the Church, we would be honored and delighted for you to join us. There is a need for more leaders so any of your talents would be a great help. In
addition, serving with young people is a great way to learn and grow as a Christian.

Please contact either me or Annie before Sunday if you are at all interested so we can discuss this question and discern God's will together.

Please send Josh, jnlin85@ufl.edu, the weekends you would like to go to CBC. Email Josh by THIS FRIDAY. Some advice in choosing the weekends: see if your academic schedule permits (exams, projects, etc. around that time?) and what disease population do you want to work with? Remember, Family weekends begin at 2pm on Friday until 2pm on Sunday. We will carpool from Gainesville at 12pm and we'll return on Sunday by 4pm. Please plan accordingly. After compiling your emails, Josh will then finalize a weekend where the most Crossroaders can go together. (FYI, you may also go with a smaller group if you want to go other weekends or can't go the chosen weekend...granted IF you have turned in your application.)

Ramp Update : let's finish it together !!

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to thank the people who came out to Mr. Carpenter's ramp build, just to update the group we did not finish, because of some nasty weather we all experienced yesterday. We are about 75% finished and we plan on finishing up his ramp tomorrow around 9:15, we are going to meet in two different places Stoneridge as well as CCC's headquarters. We only have about 2 hours or so left so come and take apart of the action. Again, we are meeting at 9:15 it takes about 15 minutes to get there. This email is going out to CCF and Crossroads, so I hope everyone can make it and serve along aside one another.

So everyone knows this is the perfect time to go if you might be interested because, the ramp is already almost finished, so you will be able to get a sample of what it would be like without having to make a full day's commitment.

Aside from the calling to help others, this is honestly a great time to understand the necessity in fellowship as well as working in a team. I personally can attest, that working together with groups for this purpose really encourages me to see exactly how the body of Christ, the church can come together and work together and see a finish product. So come if your heart burdens you or if you are drawn by the Spirit within to help. Call me, I will do my best to arrange and setup a ride for you. I will be up until 1 AM or so maybe 2 AM.

Directions & Addresses, (If you plan on meeting us at Mr. Carpenter's place here is the address)

Mr. Carpenter's - 2178 Nw 177th Ave | Gainesville, FL 32609-4264

Stoneridge – Meet at Kevin Lo, Glenn, Eric, Jeremy's Apartment

CCC - 1903 Nw 35th Ave, Gainesville, FL 32605

Music help for crossroads

Please prayerfully consider if God wants you to serve Him and His people this semester through the worship team. You do not have to play an instrument; a genuine heart is all God desires. You could serve in areas such as playing (guitar, piano, violin, flute, djembe, or whatever it is that you play) singing, and powerpoint typing. Please do take some time to pray about this, even if you've never considered being a part of the music team, or you've always served in this area. God uses whoever He chooses to, and not necessarily the talented or the able. I understand that a lot of unforeseen stressors might come up during the semester, but don't let the unknown deter you from committing to the worship team, for God will strengthen His chosen.
Please get back to Wanda with any decision you hear from God, or any question you might have concerning the worship team by next Wednesday the 16th. (352) 359-3876 or wanjing@ufl.edu
